… The woman said said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden, but of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden God said: You must not eat, and you must not touch it or you will die.”(Gen. 3:2-3)
Despite God’s warning, the woman heeded to the serpent’s temptation. She ate the fruit and shared it with the man. Well, she did not die physically as she feared. She only died from freedom of pain in childbirth. This was the judgment being given to her by God. Had she heeded God’s warning, would all women not suffer in pain during childbirth? Would men be able to put food on the table without sweating for it?
Those two creatures were molded by the hands of God. They were able to see God and talk to God. Yet, they did fail. How much more are we who directly come from weak and sinful ancestors?
God is a loving father then. He sent Jesus to make us overcome this judgment if we just believe. May He increase our faith.
Have a purposeful day!
